Opera Bastille – Construction in Progress
Paris (75)
The renovation works on the roofs of the Opéra Bastille, a building labeled “Remarkable Contemporary Architecture,” are progressing above the rooftops of Paris: a complex and demanding project where environmental performance and architectural quality advance hand in hand…
Clé Millet Architectes is working alongside BET SECC in managing an operation with strong technical, environmental, and organizational constraints, carried out on an occupied and highly sensitive site.
This project reflects the ambition of the Opéra National de Paris in terms of energy performance and sustainability, with the objective of achieving the “Bâtiment Durable Francilien – Bronze level” certification. It incorporates innovative systems, including the installation of photovoltaic panels integrated into the workshop sheds, as well as rainwater buffering and recycling systems, going beyond the measures required for certification (urban heat island mitigation measures, solar control glazing, implementation of green terraces, promotion of biodiversity, etc.).
Within this highly technical context, the architectural dimension remains fully present, notably through the redesign of the four interior patios. Conceived as breathing spaces, they become places of conviviality and exchange at the heart of the building.
