Lot 9 is a high-quality intermediate rental housing (IRH) project, composed of 33 units, including 14 intermediate housing units and 19 collective units. The project was designed in accordance with the Lille Low Carbon Pact, an ambitious plan from the Lille metropolitan area aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting the energy transition. The project was designed to offer an optimal living experience for residents, with particular attention paid to privacy.

Beyond thermal and energy standards, which by imposing compactness and performance can sometimes limit actual comfort, this project, designed since 2018, takes the gamble of prioritizing everyday quality of life with:

  1. Spacious living areas, including 50% of living rooms with double-height ceilings
  2. An architectural form designed to promote dual-aspect or cross-ventilated apartments, ensuring natural light, cross ventilation, and thermal comfort in both summer and winter
  3. Loggias or terraces opening onto generous, unobstructed gardens, protected from overlooking views thanks to chamfered façades
  4. A diverse range of unit types: from one-bedroom to four-bedroom apartments, in simplex or duplex configurations, with differentiated access:
    • Direct street access, for a single-family house feeling
    • Access via walkways, in a mid-rise housing spirit
    • Vertical circulation via elevators, in a collective housing logic
    • A project where usage guides design, for housing that is sustainable because it is desirable.
