CORBEIL-ESSONNES THEATER

Corbeil-Essonnes (91) - France

Rehabilitation including the renovation of the 700-seat auditorium, the creation of a second performance space, an exhibition area, and the improvement of the building's energy performance (networks and external thermal insulation)

The Corbeil Theater shines as the main cultural center in Essonne department. Its complete rehabilitation was a major challenge for the preservation of a venue open to all forms of expression: theater, cinema, exhibitions, music…

We met this challenge by bringing high-level environmental performance to the intervention, recognized by ADEME (French Environment and Energy Management Agency) through the installation of a double insulating skin across the entire building.

Nevertheless, other performance aspects also benefit from the specific expertise of the firm: modernization of the stage equipment, including one of the only reversible stage-hall turntables in France, creation of a new hall dedicated to young creation, implementation of large versatile exhibition spaces equipped with the latest VDI technologies.

This intervention provided an opportunity to regularize the typological status of the venue in a context entirely respectful of safety and accessibility constraints.
