OPERA BASTILLE

Paris 12th arrondissement (75)

Renovation of the waterproofing and thermal improvement of the roofs of the Opéra Bastille.

The design mission relating to the waterproofing renovation and thermal improvement of the roofs of the Opéra Bastille combines our architectural expertise with the technical skills of SECC engineering consultancy. This collaborative approach has made it possible to address, through a rigorous and innovative method, the energy-upgrading challenges of a major heritage facility.

The project incorporates ambitious environmental solutions: photovoltaic membranes on shed roofs, rainwater buffering and recycling systems, and self-sufficient adiabatic cooling systems. Creativity also finds expression in the layout of the four inner patios, genuine places of conviviality and exchange at the heart of the Opera.

All of these interventions form part of an overall strategy of energy and environmental performance, with the achievement of the Bâtiment Durable Francilien label – Bronze level.
