Rehabilitation of the Renaissance theatre.
The rehabilitation of the Renaissance auditorium is part of a desire to enhance the heritage value of a remarkable architectural ensemble representative of the 1930s.
The entire “Renaissance” complex is designed to accommodate, on the one hand, the existing music school and, on the other, the resident Orchestre de Basse-Normandie, while also allowing for other performance possibilities such as theatre, dance or, occasionally, conferences.
This led to the auditorium being endowed with great acoustic flexibility by means of two main systems:
These systems are complemented by a stalls area with movable seats allowing modulation of capacity, and by two movable prosceniums to adapt the surface area and height of the stage or to use an orchestra pit.
