Rehabilitation of the Trabendo Hall - Folie R7: Refurbishment of the cladding, waterproofing, and thermal insulation
The Folie R7 of Parc de la Villette is one of Paris’ hubs for contemporary music, a “SMAC” (french for Contemporary Music Venue) where the most creative groups of the moment perform. Our firm led its complete rehabilitation to adapt it to both security requirements and new technical and scenographic imperatives. The intervention covered the entire building: The performance hall on the ground floor and semi-buried in the park’s contours, the emergences of levels 1 and 2 incorporating communication, reception, and administrative functions.
It extends to the entire air renewal and smoke extraction system, as well as the fire safety system brought up to standard with appropriate detection and alarm systems. The entire public space has been brought into compliance with accessibility standards, including the creation of a ramp to reach the current level of the hall, a floor at the dance floor level, the reconfiguration of sanitary facilities, and the creation of an accessible artists’ dressing room and a removable stage access.
